A week-long children’s theatre, arts and crafts summer school, co-facilitated with Olivia Gajetzki, exploring mythical beings of the deep blue sea. San Juan, Ibiza, 2024.

Deep Deep Blue was a five-day, multi-disciplinary arts week co-facilitated with actress and theatre director Olivia Gajetzki. Over the week, we worked with the children to stimulate ideas, thoughts and feelings in relation to the theme of the ocean. The children sculpted giant masks representing Posidonia Beings – spirits protecting the Posidonia seagrass meadows which are found in the waters surrounding Ibiza and Formentera – and we co-created a performance exploring the plight of the Posidonia Beings to defend their ancient seagrass home against destructive forces.

On the final day we shared our performance with gathered parents and family members, who also enjoyed learning the theatre games which we started each day with (see photo below).
