‘Monster Island’ was a one-week summer school for children aged 7-11, facilitated on Ibiza with actress and theatre coach Olivia Gajetzki in July 2023.

Over the course of the week we invented a mythical island inhabited by monsters, exploring it in multi-disciplinary ways including storytelling, roleplay, mask theatre, map-making and book-making. The children inhabited an imaginary world through the power of metaphor, and brought it to life using a range of arts, crafts and theatre techniques. On the final day we invited the parents to watch a closing performance, as well as take part in some of the theatre games we had played and enjoyed during the week.
