‘The Comedy of Vegetables’ was a children’s community play project at the organic farm Can Cristófol in San Carlos, Ibiza, in December 2023.

The aim of this project was to revive the history of Can Cristófol as a community and cultural centre for the surrounding area of Sant Carles de Peralta, and to bring back one of the farm’s previous traditions – to hold an annual Christmas play starring local children. Alongside actress and theatre coach Olivia Gajetzki, we worked with a group of 6 – 11yr olds for a month, facilitating sessions in drama and theatre as well as making masks, costumes, scenery and props. The final performance was delivered in Spanish, English and Eivissenc, and attended by a packed audience of local Ibicencos and neighbours, as well as multi-national parents and supporters of the farm.
