I’m thrilled to announce this new Theatre of the Ancients workshop for adults, happening on Saturday 3rd June, 11-14h, in Ibiza town….

*‘Bes’ the Snake-Catcher God:*
*Make your own domestic talisman*

A one-off, 3hr workshop for adults, taking place on Saturday 3rd June from 11am to 2pm (arrive at 10.45am for a prompt 11am start) at Filmótica Studio, central Ibiza town.

The Phoenicians of ancient Iboshim would have decorated their living spaces with the iconography of the Egyptian god Bes, knowing him to be a protector of the home, children and mothers, and a valiant snake-catcher. Two millennia later, with serpents overrunning the island, we need the spirit of Bes more than ever….

In this three hour adult workshop, we will craft our own personal talismans to evoke Bes, using cardboard-sculpting and papier-mâché techniques, and embellishing with paints and natural, locally-sourced materials. You will go home with your own precious ritual object to decorate your home, and to call in the old Ibizan gods which are so desperately needed today. 

All artistic abilities welcome.
All materials included.
Workshop will be delivered in English/English and Spanish, depending on participants.

Fee: 35€ – 45€ (pay what you can, sliding scale)
